Allen Bowden School is taking extra precautions on the safety of our students and staff. Beginning January 7, 2013, all doors will be locked to all buildings with the exception of three entrances. The entrances that will be unlocked are the main entrance to the elementary building, the main entrance to the gym, and the main entrance to the administration building.
The entrances that are unlocked have had metal detectors installed. This is an inconvenience, but it is necessary to protect our students and staff. They are of the utmost importance and it is my responsibility that they are safe at school.
If the metal detector goes off upon your entrance to one of these buildings, you will be asked to empty your pockets.
I apologize for your inconvenience, but I owe it to you, your children, the staff, and the community that Allen Bowden School is doing everything possible to make sure everyone is safe.
